Escambia County Tax Collector Scott Lunsford announces the waiver of replacement and local service fees for anyone wanting to add an organ donor designation to their driver license in the month of July.
This month-long event is designed to honor our citizens and neighbors who selflessly gave of themselves as organ, tissue and eye donors.
“Waiving the local service fee is just another way we hope to encourage Escambia County citizens to become organ donors,” said Lunsford. “Organ donation changes lives forever, and offering this waiver is just another way to pay tribute to both the donors and recipients.”
“We are proud that Escambia County consistently is one of the top counties statewide in the donor designation rate, however, we can do better,” Lunsford continued. “We encourage everyone to become an organ donor.”
With over 10 million donors on the registry, it is easier than ever to register as an organ, tissue or eye donor. Citizens can register by visiting one of our tax collector offices or online at DonateLifeFlorida.org. Registering online has the same impact as registering in our office. The organ donor designation can be placed on your driver license on a future visit. If visiting our office, don’t forget to get in line online.
Participants in the July campaign must surrender their current driver license, only be changing the organ donor designation and comply with the Real ID requirements.
