Heavy Truck Renewal

Heavy truck renewal registrations are being adjusted to coincide with the owner’s birth month. Below are examples of what a person would be charged for the base tax to their birth month. Additional fees may apply.

General Comments:

Heavy truck registrants have the option when renewing in December 2020 or December 2021 (current biennial renewals) to either pay the prorated base tax to their 2021 birth month, plus additional fees or pay the prorated base tax to their birth month, plus an additional 12-month base tax, plus additional fees to their 2022 birth month.

Additional Fee Comments:

1. Additional fees for January through June renewals will be charged one time, regardless of choosing Option 1 or 2. However, a person who chooses Option 1 and returns in their birth month to renew for 12 months will pay the additional fees again.

2. Additional fees for July through December renewals will be once for Option 1 but will be charged twice for Option 2.

Additional fees can include personalization fees and specialty plate fees as well as other fees.
