Scott Lunsford, Escambia County Tax Collector, announces his office presented a check for $670,491.31 in unspent revenue to the Escambia County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) for fiscal year 2018 – 2019.
Since taking office, Lunsford has delivered to the BOCC checks totaling $1,718,851.65.
“I am proud of our staff and their continued commitment to operating our office as efficiently as possible while still introducing new services. We will continue to look for new ways to reduce our expenses” Lunsford said. “We are proud to provide the Board of County Commissioners these funds that can be invested in local services that make Escambia County a great place to live.”
The Escambia County Tax Collector is a fee-based office, meaning its operations are funded only through the fees it collects. At the end of each fiscal year, after its budget is funded, the Tax Collector distributes all unused fees to local taxing authorities.
