Online services for driver licenses and motor vehicle services will be unavailable beginning at 7 p.m. CDT, Friday, May 6, 2016 through 8 a.m., Monday, May 9. This is due to the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles move of their data center.
Citizens who know their driver license, identification card or vehicle registration will expire on or before May 10 should take notice. Customers can visit GatherGoGet.com to prepare for their next visit to our office, renew driver licenses or identification cards online here, or renew vehicle registrations here.
The planned outage is a result of the department’s move from the state data center Northwood Centre location in Tallahassee to the state data center located in Southwood, also in Tallahassee. The move is complex and will require a complete shutdown of DHSMV enterprise systems throughout the weekend. The department and the Agency for State Technology have been planning the move in detail, and the planning team has implemented steps to minimize risk and potential impact to department customers.
