In addition, you will need:

• Original Florida title properly completed by buyer(s) and seller(s).
• All applicants (purchasers) for title must sign the initial Application for Florida Title (HSMV 82040) or be present in our office. If an applicant is unable to come in, he or she may provide a completed Power of Attorney (HSMV 82053) to the applicant visiting our office so that the applicant may sign the application on the missing applicant’s behalf.
• U.S. Driver’s License, U.S. Identification card, or valid passport for each owner (see below for more information).

Transactions involving a trust or inheritance, as well as any other non-standard situation, will require additional documents.

Acceptable Proof of Identity for Vehicle Registrations
A valid REAL ID driver license or identification card issued by Florida or another state; a valid, unexpired U.S. passport; or a valid, unexpired foreign passport with an unexpired Form I-94.

Acceptable Proof of Street Address:
Registration requirements call for the street address of the owner’s permanent Florida residence or permanent place of business in Florida. A customer’s permanent residence or business street address listed on their registration application must be located within Florida. Currently the only exception is active- duty military stationed outside of Florida who want to maintain a Florida registration.
