Now Hiring: Driving Examiner

The Escambia County Tax Collector’s Office is currently accepting applications for the position of Driving Examiner. This position is responsible for administering driver license examinations, including behind-the-wheel testing, extended driving tests, and medical driving exams, while ensuring compliance with applicable state laws, regulations, and safety standards.

Starting Pay: $21.10 per hour

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Retired law enforcement personnel
  • Retired military personnel

Essential Duties Include:

  • Administering behind-the-wheel, extended, and medical driving tests and evaluating applicant performance
  • Conducting vehicle safety inspections prior to examinations
  • Verifying identity and reviewing required documentation for accuracy and authenticity
  • Ensuring compliance with Florida Statutes and DHSMV procedures
  • Providing courteous and professional service to the public

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Florida driver license
  • Relevant experience in traffic safety, customer service, or clerical work preferred

The ideal candidate will demonstrate sound judgment, strong communication skills, and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse customer base in a fast-paced environment.
